Is it about time for ring shopping? Choosing the right engagement ring for your significant other can be nerve-wracking. You might be under immense pressure to get the perfect ring that would symbolize your commitment and love towards your partner.
Unfortunately, knowing what ring to choose isn’t as simple as most people think. You can’t just waltz into a jeweler and pick the first engagement ring you see. You have to look through a lot of rings with a variety of styles to decide on the best one for your partner. Luckily for you, we’ve come up with a checklist to help you know how to choose the right engagement ring.
Don’t Forget The Ring Size
First, don’t forget to get your significant other’s ring size. Outside of the actual ring shopping, this will be the hardest to achieve – if you want to keep it a surprise. You can easily ask your partner outright what their ring size is. But if you want a sneakier way to keep everything under wraps, these are some ways you can do this:
- Borrow their ring and bring them to the jeweler to get it sized.
- Trace out the ring’s outer and inner outline on paper and bring it to your jeweler.
- Ask your family or friends for help. They might have an idea what your partner’s ring size is. If not, they can sneakily ask your partner to give you the measurements you need.
- If nothing works, that’s totally fine! You can just go for standard size and get it resized after your proposal. Just make sure to inquire if the ring you’ll purchase is adjustable.
